Mr Patterson and Raenan

Today Mr Patterson came again, he came with an other student from Tamaki College and his name is Raenan. When they came they were talking about how you have opportunities and that you should take them. My most impacting part for me is Take advantage of the opportunities you get given. This is a good thing to do because if you don't believe in yourself you can get better by taking every opportunity you get.

Child Tooth Decay

In this google slide it talks about how tooth decay is getting worst mostly to the kids around the world and most of the kids are 1 years to 5 year's old. Did you know 34,000 kid under 14 has teeth removed due to tooth decay or infection in 2012.  

The Gingerbread Man

The Gingerbread Man

Once upon a time, there were a little old woman and a little old man who lived in a big Mansion. The little old woman and the little old man were hungry, so the little old woman decided to bake a gingerbread man.

As the Gingerbread Man was being baked the little old lady departed the room in a hurry, when she was gone there was something lurking around the oven then the oven door opened and the gingerbread man leaped out of the oven and went to the leftover Gingerbread dough and made a Gingerbread Lady because he was friendless and he wanted someone to love.

When he finish making the Gingerbread Lady he put her in the oven to cook. When she was done the Gingerbread Man opened the oven door and she leaped out discreetly. When she leaped out of the oven she was wearing a sugar coated as her dress and M&M’s for eyes and mouth.

As they were observing each other the little old lady walked in and saw the two Gingerbread's and fainted and the Gingerbread Man and the Gingerbread Lady absconded out the door and made a house near the lake.

Today Mr Patterson came to Pt England School to talk to all the year 7 & 8 about what we want to be in the feature and how to give then take from people. That's when he asked What do you want to be in the feature? then I was thinking and think I want to be a Sport that's plan A and plan B is to be a Layer. My favourite part about his talk A + I = M, the meaning of AIM is A is Aspiration, Aspiration is what you want to do in the feature, I is Inspiration, Inspiration is who inspires you and M is Motivation, Motivation is what Aspiration and Inspiration equals. This has inspired me to work harder in the feature and to also help people who need it.  

Problem

In this problem I did 7 x 34 = 238 because I did 7 x 4 = 28 and 7 x 30 = 210 so then I added 28 + 210 = 238. Hopefully you use this way to solve your problems.

Niuean Language Week

Fakalofa lahi atu. Today is Niuean language week, for this special week the Niue students performed a traditional performance. As part of the there performance, the girl's did there dance then the boy did their little haka. You should one day watch a Niuean performance because it's awesome and you could learn there style. What it means to be a good role model

All around you there are role models, there could be one next to you at this very moment  Here are some ways to be a good role model.

One way to be a good role model is to be careful with the words you say in front of the little kids because if you for some reason say something bad in front of them they take those words in and start using them at school and maybe at home.

Another way to be a good role model is to pick up rubbish anywhere, even if you aren’t told to so that the creek’s and rivers aren’t polluted and they are looked after better in the future.

The last way to be a good role model is to treat others the way you want to be treated like saying nice things about them, give them help even if they don’t and ask them if they want to play with you if they're not playing with anyone.

Hopefully you take in this three different ways to be a good role model.

Behind the Scene-Manaiakalani Movie....

Have you been to a Manaiakalani film Festival before? Well, I have, in the Manaiakalani film festival we have to finish a movie a movie to show in the Movie at Sylvia Park Hoyts. What I enjoyed about our movie is that we have finished our movie and that nearly everyone is in the movie. What I found challenging was trying to keep still when Mr. Wiseman tells us to. What I think I should do better in is standing up and being still, and if I had some ideas for our movie next year I would make everyone stand in one line and water or pudding can fell on their head. Cross Country

On Friday the 1st of September we had cross country. Before we even started cross country, our principal was telling us where we had to go and who had to do one lap and who had to do two laps.

When he finally finished the year 1 boys started their race, then it was the year 1 girls, then the year 2 boys, then the year 2 girls, after a lot of waiting it was finally the year seven girls when we went up I was nevs and also existed at the sometime .

When we ran I felt good because I could feel the braze on my sink. I could also feel the mud going throw my toes. I wasn’t really thinking about coming one of the first people, because I just didn’t want to go into zones, but I really did try my best.

When I finally finished my run I was so happy because I thought I wasn’t going to finish my race, I also thought that I was going to come last. Hopefully you enjoyed this Post.

Kids should get paid to go to school

Is it worth getting paid as a kid??? To me I think it’s worth it.

My first reason why we should get paid is because the teacher a boring and they sometimes make us so sleepy.

My second reason why we should get paid cause some kids don’t have car’s to get to school in raining days so they have to walk to school in the cold.

My last reason we should get paid cause our present don’t earn that much money at their jobs they do.

So there you have it I’ve stated why kids should get paid. I stated them throw my three points. I hope you agree with me.

For our writing for this week our WALT is to Identify features of persuasive writing. It is also about what we went the school to do for us. Hope you enjoy this piece of writing.

Amazing Games

On Wednesday the 24th of may the year 8's left to go to a amazing camp far away. During the day the year 8's left and the year 7's were now the top of the school and leaders of the school as well. The first thing we did was to get into two group and make a chant and choice our leader's, the leader's are Me and Troy and our group is also called Fobalicious because everyone wanted to be called Fobalicious. That morning everyone came in together and sang our chants. After morning tea we had team building with the amazing and beautiful Mrs Judd. In team building we made towers after making our towers we had a cup suck competition and my team won then we had our last game with was moving fur balls to an other and go back into your line we lose but we had a lot of fun. the next day we made trifles with Wheae Kelly and our last rotation was art and it was fun. I'm looking forward to doing this again.

Simple, Compounded and Complex's

There was a boy name Jack. He had a lot of friends, he also got everything he ever wanted to have like a bike, Xbox and PS 4 but he didn't enjoy having everything.

One day Jack saw a boy playing on the playground by himself and asked little kids if they need a push on the swing. when Jack saw him by himself he asked if he wanted to play with them but he said nothing and walked away . As the boy walked home Jack was following him to his house. When the boy got in his house Jack knocked on the door.  He waited for the door to open. When it opened Jack walked in without seeing if anyone was inside. When Jack got into the living room the boy hit Jack with his bat then ran out there back door.

This is my writing about simple, Compounded and complex sentences. In this writing I wrote about a boy name Jack how had everything he wanted but was the only kid and never had his cousin come to his house but he also had a lot of friends. Simple is green, Compounded is Blue and Complex is Red.

What I'm Looking Forward To This Term

This term I'm looking forward to when the year 8 leave to camp because when they leave I'll have a bigger Chance to step up. I'll also like forward to be going Rainbow's End, because It'll be my first time going and I'll also get to try the new rides that they have. 

My Holiday

In the holidays Me and my family went to this park at Manurewa. At the park there were a lot of people with there family's playing at the skate park. At the skate park I played on my on my cousin skate bored. At the end of the day we all sat down and ate our food. What I liked about that day was when we ate the food because it was nice.

The Prince of Popland

Once upon a time there were two selfish boys. They lived in a place called Popland with was near New york. They both lived in a castle called Prince Palace, there names were Johnny and Jonah.

One day Johnny decided to run away because he didn't want to fight his brother Jonah to be the new king of Popland. As Johnny was  packing his bag to leave his father walked past and told him not to leave because he will beat Jonah and will also become the king but Johnny just walked past his dad and gave him a kiss and said “Forgive me” and left.

After a few year Jonah became the king the king. When Jonah father finished putting the crone on Jonah’s head he said “ As your king you must give me something and I’ll give you a place in my castle, and if not you will live in your smelling and trouble house you live in know” in a anger voice.

As Jonah’s father Named James walked into Jonah’s brother’s room he noticed that there were picture of animals and people running around having fun, he also noticed that they have names on the paper the first name was New Zealand, Africa, Malaysia, Japan, America and more. Well James was looking at all the pictures he decided to go and get his son.  

After packing all his clothes he waited for the morning to tell the people in the village That he is leaving. When it was morning the people come to the castle to hear the notice and the James said “ I’m leaving to go and find my son. I know he's out there and I’ll bring him back” everyone was happy but Jonah he was anger so he Said to the man who was going with his dad “ Make sure you kill him or your died instead” in a anger voice.

This is my People & Place Names, it is about A Serious Game. A Serious Game is a story about this man who had to perform a dance for the New born baby in the village of Motutapu. The man was offend to ride in one of the boats but then he ask to ride the whale that belonged to Tinirau so he let him take the whale, he also told Kae to get of the whale once he got to the shallow but he didn't do it he stayed on and the whale died. As you can see this is my writing test writing about my Special Place in the community. The first piece of writing is my edited writing which I have changed some of the words and moved them to different places in my writing. !!The amazing world of Polyfest!!

Have you ever been to Polyfest?? Well on the 16 of march our block went to the opening of Polyfest. Polyfest mean’s Polynesian Festival for different culture’s like samoa, tonga and many more.

Our group went to AUT for our first activity. We learnt about different thing like this person made a app so the people in fiji, we also saw this video about matariki, it showed how the star were formed and it also showed there name.

After all our activities my group went to the Diversity sage and watched different countries like tokelau,fijian,china and korea. Then we went to the moeri stage and saw people singing and dancing with poi’s.

My favourite part of the day was when aysha bort some popcorn for herself but she shared it with all of us.

What I learnt from yesterday is that everyone is apart of something. After all that I’ve learnt different things when I was there, hope fully you go!!!
